Obituary of Robert P. Latkany
Robert P. Latkany, 81, passed away Saturday, November 3, 2018. He was born in August of 1937 in Brooklyn, New York.
Robert is survived by his devoted wife of 54 years, Regina Latkany, and his five children and nine grandchildren: Dr. Paul Latkany (wife Dr. Monica Lorenzo-Latkany) and children, Sofia and Alexia; Joseph Latkany (partner Bryn Duffy); Lianne Russo (husband Anthony Russo) and child Anthony; Lauren Levicky (husband Rastislav Levicky) and children Alexander and Natalia; Dr. Robert Latkany (wife Dr. Barbara Lock) and children Brian, Amanda, Luke, and Robert.
Robert has been an insurance agent for Shoff-Darby, the past 46 years and also with Northwestern Mutual Insurance for 46 years.
Robert is a Brooklyn Prep 1955 graduate and past Captain of its Varsity Basketball Team and currently was on the Board of Directors. A 1959 Boston College graduate he had played on the first Boston College Basketball Team to make the NCAA Tournament. Robert received his MBA from New York University. He was a First Lieutenant in the Armed Forces of the United States.
An avid sports enthusiast, Robert has been a basketball referee for nearly 50 years in the Westchester County area. He has also travelled to every Super Bowl of the last continuous 51 Super Bowl games. Robert was very proud of the fact that his three sons, Paul, Joey, and Bobby were the only three brothers ever to make it to the National Finals in the history of the Punt Pass & Kick.
Robert had also found great enjoyment in traveling and has been to 120 countries over the years. Robert will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
Visiting hours will be at the Graham Funeral Home, 1036 Boston Post Road, Rye. Friday, November 9th from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 PM. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Saturday, November 10th at 12 noon at the Church of the Resurrection, 910 Boston Post Road, Rye. Interment will be a future date in Massachusetts.
