Obituary of Frances M Dyer

Frances M. Dyer, 95, passed peacefully surrounded by family at Autumn Glen Assisted Living, Dartmouth, MA on January 18, 2017. Born in Bristol, CT, she was the daughter of Antoni and Zofia Stawicki. Frances was the loving wife of John "Jack" Dyer who predeceased her in 2002. They were married at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Port Chester, NY and made their home in Rye, NY, where they raised their six children. Frances was a parishioner of Resurrection Church, Rye, NY and served as the Recording Secretary and President of the Academy of the Resurrection Mother's Guild and served in the St. Monica's Mother's Club. She was a member of the Rye Fire Department Auxillary and volunteered as a receptionist and patient representative at United Hospital. As a young woman, she worked at Life Savers and was a case manager at the Westchester County Department of Social Services. Frances is remembered for her gentle and kind ways, as well as her beautiful gardens, needlework, afghans, baking and cooking. She was an aficionado of Scrabble and word games. As the 'matriarch ' of the 'Dyer Dynasty', Frances loved her family unconditionally. She is survived by her six children, John (Patricia), James (Barbara), Catherine (John), Robert, Mary (Bob Smith), Christine (John), her 13 grandchildren, John Jr., Scott, Robert, James, Matthew, Adam, Michael, Timothy, Christopher, Catherine, Marie, Sean and James Brian, and her 7 great grandchildren, Angela, Anna, Michael, Frances, Addison, Declan, and Liam. She is also survived by her sisters, Mary (Nina) Mateycik and Sophie Kancir. In addition to her husband, Frances is predeceased by her sister, Rose Skrzypczak, and brothers, John and Leo Stawicki.
