Obituary of Bruce G. Jenkins

Bruce Gorton Jenkins, a resident of Rye and Greenwich CT, passed away peacefully on December 27, 2016 after a short illness surrounded by his children and grandchildren. Born on January 5, 1928 in Port Chester NY, he was the son of Fredrick and Winifred (nee Gorton) Jenkins. Bruce graduated from Rye High School and attended City College of New York. He enlisted in the US Navy and served on the U.S.S. Missouri and the U.S.S. Washington. Bruce worked in advertising, publishing and property management. He was a Volunteer at the Milton Point Fire Department for more than 50 years and a Warden for Milton Point Fire Department for more than 25 years. Bruce was predeceased by his wife Dorothy. He is survived by his children Susan, Cazenovia, NY; Nancy (Kevin) Kennedy, Rye, NY; Bruce (Juliet), Belmont, MA; Cyndy (Steven) Peterson, W.Nyack, NY; Richard (Diane), Riverside, NY; David (Joan), Rye, NY; Bob (Rosemary), Brookfield, CT; Lisa McKiernan, Purchase, NY; sisters : Lee (Ed) Ballard, West Virginia; Coline, Old Greenwich, CT; and brother Morgan (Lillie), Old Greenwich, CT; Grandchildren Kevin & Peter Kennedy, Alexandra & Emily Dolbear, Lucas, Maddie & Tess Jenkins, Carly & Sam Jenkins, Christian & Harrison Jenkins, Dylan and Kyle McKiernan. The family will receive friends at the Graham Funeral Home in Rye, NY on Thursday December 29th from 2:00-4:00 PM and 7:00-9:00 PM. There will be a memorial service on Friday December 30, 2016 at Rye Presbyterian Church in Rye, NY at 10:00 AM. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Treasurer, Rye Fire Department, P.O.
