William Gerard Klein of Rye, NY passed away on March 6, 2016. Born in NYC on July 27, 1926, Bill was the son of William Francis and Florence Irene Gurnee Klein. He served his country honorably during WWII in the US Navy. After the war he joined the Naval Reserves earning an Intelligence Classification and top secret clearance retiring as Lieutenant Commander. A graduate of Fordham University, he earned his MBA at NYU and later earned his second masters in History at Fordham University. Bill worked for the NYS Life Insurance Department retiring as Chief Examiner. Mr. Klein was a member of the NY Genealogical/Biographical Society, the Rye Historical Society, the Military Officers Association of America and the Retired Reserve Officers Assoc. of Westchester. Mr. Klein is survived by his wife the former Kathleen Rees, two sons: William Rhys and Dr. John Jude Gurnee (Marianne Hillerman) and two granddaughters Maria and Gianna. The family will receive friends at the Graham Funeral Home on Friday March 11, from 4 PM to 8 PM. A mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at the Church of the Resurrection on Saturday at 11 AM.
