Obituary of Nicholas D. Loddo

Nicholas D. Loddo, a Rye resident, died April 18, 2023, at the age of 98.  He was born in White  Plains on August 22, 1924, to the late Dominick and Antoinette Loddo.

Nicholas served in the Army during World War II and was an active member of The Rye American Legion Post 128.  He owned Loddo Landscaping for over 40 years and was active with the New York Turf and Landscaping Association until very recently.  A resident of Rye since 1954, Nicholas was always active in the Rye community.  He was on the Boy Scout leadership committee, Resurrection Troop, and served as a member of the Rye Police Reserve for 20 years.

Nicholas is survived by his wife of 75 years, Carmel Vaccaro Loddo, by his children: Nicholas D. Loddo Jr. (Johanna) of Carmel; Lorraine Loddo Seicol (David) of White Plains; his sisters Margaret Turnbull and Lucille DeStrange.  He is also survived by his grandchildren: Nicholas D. Loddo III; Steven and Jeffrey Loddo; Marc and Andrew Seicol; and 8 great grandchildren.  Nicholas is predeceased by his siblings: Julia Rendina; Mary Suarez; Anthony Loddo; and Rita Burns.

The family will receive friends at the Graham Funeral Home on Sunday April 23, 2023 from 4:00-6:00 PM.  A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at the Church of the Resurrection on Monday April 24, 2023 at 10:00 AM.  Interment to follow at Greenwood Union Cemetery, in Rye NY.  In lieu of flowers, a memorial donation can be made to the Make a Wish Foundation.
