Obituary of Anita Groglio

Anita Margaret Groglio, a resident of Rye, NY for over 61 years, passed away January 28, 2023, at the age of 88. Anita was born on March 15, 1934, in Harrison, NY. She was the daughter of Gabriel and Mary (nee Strazza) Carino. Anita was one of six Carino sisters: Peggy, Eva, Rene, Rose, and Patricia. She graduated from Harrison High School and later attended Westchester Community College. 

Anita was married to George Groglio on February 5, 1956. Together they raised their five children in Rye, NY. Anita and George enjoyed traveling and had many wonderful memories of trips to Europe over their 60 years of marriage. She was a devoted mother to her children and grandmother to 9 grandchildren. In later years she returned to the work force as a bookkeeper for Stone Erlanger on Purchase Street in Rye, NY for over 30 years. 

Anita was predeceased by her husband George who passed away on September 16, 2016. She is survived by her children: George Groglio of Port Chester, NY; Glenn Groglio of Norwalk, CT; Gail Ahearn of Lincolndale, NY; Steven Groglio of Garrison, NY; and Jim Groglio of Rye, NY; Grandchildren: Hayley Groglio, Skyler Groglio, Elisa Groglio Narizhnaya, Cara Groglio, Sarah Ahearn, Jack Ahearn, CJ Groglio, Marissa Groglio, and Mikayla Groglio. 

The family will receive friends at the Graham Funeral Home in Rye, NY on Friday March 3, 2023, from 4:00-7:00 PM. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated on Saturday March 4, 2023, at 12:00 PM at the Church of the Resurrection in Rye, NY.  The Mass will be livestreamed for those who can not attend in person.  To view the livestream, please click here.
