Obituary of Florence J. Scenna

Florence J. Scenna, of Port Chester, NY passed away peacefully on November 30th 2022 surrounded by her family. Born in Port Chester on September 12th 1935, she was the daughter of Mary Morano & Joseph Donato. 

She was a beloved mother & grandmother (“Nanny”) and dedicated her life to her children & grandchildren. She was a true matriarch to her family and leaves behind a legacy of love. 

Florence was an avid New York Yankees fan and watched every inning of every game religiously, sometimes watching the encore the same night just to make sure she didn’t miss anything. Many will also remember her infamous meatballs and pots of sauce on Sundays. 

She worked various jobs throughout her lifetime from Empire Brushworks to the Rye Shoe Store and quickly became family to all who came to know her in all walks of life. 

Florence is survived by her children Anthony, Marianne, Mark (Teresa), Charlene, Christine (Kevin), her daughter-in-law Enza and also her grandchildren Steven, Olivia, Nicholas, Mark, Kevin, Anthony, Kevin (Miranda)& her great-granddaughter Emersyn. 

She is predeceased by her son Steven Scenna. 

A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at the Church of the Resurrection in Rye, NY on Monday December 5th, 2022 at 10:00 AM.  The Mass will be livestreamed for those who are unable to attend in person.  To view the livestream, please click here. Burial to follow at Greenwood Union Cemetery in Rye, NY. 

In lieu of flowers a memorial donation may be made in memory of Florence Scenna to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital
