Jack Stavrides, a lifelong resident of Rye, NY passed away on September 28, 2022 at the age of 94. He was born in Rye, NY on October 26, 1927 to Katerina and Demetrios Stavrides.  He attended Rye schools and excelled as a math student and track athlete. He spent much of his youth at the Rye YMCA where he enjoyed bowling, boxing, playing pool and ping pong. He graduated Rye High School in 1945. Jack proudly served with the Navy during World War II and the Korean War.  He was employed with the Rye D.P.W over 20 years.

Jack was an avid golf player, and was a member of the Rye Golf Club.  He was a volunteer fireman for the Rye Engine and Hose Company. He was devoted to and served as a council member at the Greek Orthodox Church of Our Saviour in Rye, NY. He loved all animals and was particularly fond of feeding squirrels that visited him in his backyard.

Jack is survived by his loving nieces and nephews; Theresa DeLorenzo, James Stavrides, and Nicholas Stavrides of Rye; Susan Venuto of Norwalk, CT,; William Stavrides of Patterson, NY, and his brother Anthony Stavrides of Patterson, NY.  He was preceded in death by his brothers Timothy, and his twin, Jordan.

Friends and family are welcome to attend a visitation on Friday, September 30th from 4:00-6:00 at the Graham Funeral Home in Rye.  A funeral service will be held on Saturday, October 1st at 9:30 at the Church of Our Saviour in Rye, with interment to follow at Greenwood Union Cemetery in Rye.
