Obituary of Dolores Tartaglia

Dolores Tartaglia, RN, realtor, and popular long-time resident of Rye, died peacefully in her sleep on September 7 at the age of 93. She joins her beloved husband, Dr. Tullio Tartaglia, who preceded her in 2001. 

Born in Queens on November 12, 1928, Dolores was a graduate of Adelphi University, where she earned a B.S. degree in nursing. She met her husband when he was a resident and they began a family after he returned from military service. 

Dolores managed her husband's medical practice for many years while raising her children and working on a number of local hospital auxiliary boards. She eventually was Invited to serve a term as president of the Ladies of Charity of the Archdiocese of New York. 

Dolores always devoted herself wholeheartedly to all of her endeavors. After her husband retired, she began a second career as a real estate broker, specializing in relocation. She joined Weichert before moving on to Julia B. Fee Sotheby's International in Rye where she spent over two decades selling houses and welcoming new homeowners to the community. Known for her sunny disposition and infectious laughter, she will be missed by all who knew her. 

She is survived by her four children, Lydia, Joseph, Alfred, and Gregory, her grandchildren, Laura, Sarah, James, Alexander, Christina, Julia, Alexandra and Andrew, and all their spouses and significant others. 

The family will receive friends at the Graham Funeral Home in Rye, NY on Friday September 9, 2022 from 4:00-7:00 PM. A funeral mass will be held for her at her parish, Resurrection Church,  in Rye, NY, on Saturday, September 10, 2022 at 10 a.m. Mausoleum Entombment will take place at St. Mary's Cemetery in Rye Brook.
