Obituary of Thomas J. Garvin

Thomas J. Garvin beloved husband of Peggy Garvin passed away August 29, 2022 after a short illness.

He was born in the Bronx on December 3, 1934 to Susan and Charles Garvin. He served in the US Army for 3 years, 2 of which were in Germany.  After his discharge he was employed by IBM for 30 years, retiring in 1991 and then worked at Beth El Synagogue for many years. 

He is survived by his wife of 61 years and his children Thomas, Deborah (Rob), James and Kathleen (Mark)  and  granddaughters Brittany and Audrey, along with many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, and siblings Michael,  Charles,  Josephine Schutty, Eileen Murrin, Susanne McGovern, Marjorie Egan and Patricia Creegan.

We would like to express our sincere thanks to King Street Rehabilitation for their excellent care.

Viewing will be at  Graham Funeral Home on August 31 2022 from 4 PM to 7 PM and Mass of Christian Burial at Resurrection Church, Rye, NY on September 1, 2022 at 11AM.  The mass will be livestreamed for those who can not attend in person.  To view the livestream, please click here.  Interment at Greenwood Union Cemetery, Rye, NY.

In lieu of flowers please make a donation to the Alzheimer's Association, American Cancer Society, Humane of Westchester, New Rochelle, NY or a charity of your choice.
