Obituary of Mary Ellen Pasquale

Mary Ellen Pasquale passed away at the age of 85 on Tuesday, October 4 in Boca Raton, Florida. She has been a Florida resident since her retirement in 1992, but prior to that time, she was a life-long resident of Rye, New York. Mrs. Pasquale was born here on July 10, 1931 to parents Albert “Jack” Huestis and Mary (Hughes) Huestis. She attended the Rye public schools and graduated Rye High School in 1949. Following graduation, she worked in New York City for several years. She married Anthony Pasquale on September 5, 1954 and they raised their five children in Rye, where he worked for the post office and was a member of the Rye Volunteer Fire Department and she was an active member of the Fire Department Ladies’ Auxiliary. In addition to being a full-time mother, Mrs. Pasquale enjoyed cooking, reading, playing cards, and gardening. She loved animals, especially birds and her pet dogs, and loved spending time with family and friends. When her children were grown, she worked for many years at Barclay’s Bank in downtown Rye prior to her retirement. Mr. Pasquale passed away in Florida in 2000. She is survived by her children: Jefferey Pasquale and his wife Maura of Denver, Colorado, Linda Pasquale and friend George Kunzman of Boca Raton, Florida, Richard Pasquale and partner Erin James of Forestville, Connecticut, Lauren Pasquale of Boca Raton, Florida, and Gerald Pasquale and his wife Nancy of Rye; her grandsons: Aidan Pasquale, Julian Pasquale, and Gavin Pasquale, and step-granddaughter, Vanessa Ortiz; her sister Ginger Shortt of Laurel, Maryland, and many nieces, nephews, grandnieces, and grandnephews.
