Dear Julie, Ann, Mary and Timothy,
I am so sorry for the loss of your Mom.
I just learned that she passed away this past Summer.
I will always hold many beautiful memories in my heart of spending time at your house as a young girl.
Your Mom's smile always made me feel joyful. She had such a patient, and sweet kindness about her that I always felt welcome at your home. I do remember her love of chocolate as you mentioned in her obituary. I know she will be greatly missed by you.
Sending hugs, love and peace,
Debbie Santomero

Where can I start to relate how my life was enriched by knowing Mrs. Ruth? She, of course, was a wonderful mother and friend to her children --- they are lovely people (and my friends) and are a testament to her guidance and love.
But I have to go back a bit further and speak of how wonderful a friend Ruth Ruth was to my mother, Gloria. Their friendship was true and involved lots of laughter, walks, and camaraderie. They met in the 1950s when both were living in the same neighborhood, and went through pregnancies together….and that friendship was so strong that it lasted for half a century through life’s changes and challenges. My strongest memories of Mrs. Ruth are watching her and my mother laughing heartily about something or another with a sneaky look in their eyes. Secrets and giggles.
Mrs. Ruth was so kind to me growing up as well….I was a frequent visitor to the Ruth abode, both after school and for “sleepovers” and even made treks out to Sag Harbor back in the day. I’m sure I was a little mischievous but she always had a smile on her face and nice things to say and shared her ever optimistic and wise outlook on life with me as I grew up.
The love she felt for her family was palpable…and I believe that love forged an extremely strong family that will continue to look to each other for strength as they navigate the waters without their mom on this plane. I know she is still with them every day…she’ll always be by their side --- but just from above where chocolate has no calories.

Dear Mary,
We are sorry to learn of your mother's passing. Gail heard the sad news from Chris Erte.
Our thoughts and prayers are with you and Anne, Julie, and Tim (and his wife and children) as we remember your mother. We have two very nice memories of your mother. The first is when we stayed at your mother's home in Scarsdale and the second, was when you invited us to your family beach house in Sag Harbor.
When we were all in Scarsdale, we remember that your mother was so welcoming and made all of us a lovely breakfast before we went off to the parade in NYC. And Bill has vivid memories of his Sag Harbor adventure at your mother's house. He was up before everyone else and accidentally let the dog out. He ran after the dog and chased him all over the neighborhood. When Bill got back, your mother and Anne laughed and said that it was okay for the dog to roam on his own. Then, your mother gave Bill a nice big piece of coffee cake to renew his energy after all of that running. Both Anne and your mother thought that Bill's chase was pretty funny!
We also did not realize that your mother was such a chocolate lover. I certainly can relate.
We know that you are all busy making arrangements and trying to process everything right now, so we didn't want to disturb you with a phone call. However, we wanted to reach out to tell you that we are thinking of you.
We (Bill, Gail, and I) would like to honor your mother with a donation to the charity that your family has chosen and just read the beautiful memories that you shared on the Graham Funeral Home website. We learned that you have chosen Doctors Without Borders and we will send a donation in honor of your mother.
We will add this note to the memory wall set up by Graham Funeral Home.
Our condolences,
Marilyn and Bill (Gail already sent a note to Anne.)
