Obituary of John C. Chiappetta, Jr.

John Chiappetta Jr., born on February 4, 1988, in Stamford, CT, passed away at the young age of 34 on July 24, 2022. He was a caring, loving son, brother, grandson, nephew, cousin, and friend to many, that was taken away from us too soon.

John Jr. was the first grandchild to be welcomed into the family.  John Jr. and his father shared a proclivity and love for many things, personally and professionally. Both were skilled craftsmen that enjoyed working with their hands. Johnny Jr. was an electrician that was ready to help anyone at a moment’s notice. John Jr. also loved sports and the outdoors. Most importantly, he had a deep love for family. When Johnny gave you a hug or shared his beautiful, big smile you knew you were someone special. Even Gotti, his dog, knew he was loved. John Jr. had an enormous heart, a listening ear and was a fierce protector of his loved ones. Like his father, John Jr. would passionately defend and support his family through thick and thin, always putting others before himself. As the oldest grandchild Johnny also assumed the role of mentor. He not only watched over his cousins but went out of his way to give each one quality time and made them aware of how special and loved they were. John Jr. will be sorely missed.

John is predeceased by his father John C. Chiappetta Sr. (2022), his grandfather Robert Morton (2017), and Uncles Danny Chiappetta of Rye, NY (2022) and Robert A. Morton of Greenwich, RI (2020). He is survived by his mother Nanette Chiappetta of North Salem, NY, brother Nicholas A. Chiappetta of Stamford, CT, grandmother Nancy Morton of Spring Hill, FL; grandparents Frank and Raffaela Chiappetta of Rye NY; Aunts and Uncles: Frank Chiappetta of Rye, NY, Mario (Lisa) Mamaroneck, NY, Marco (Adrienne) Norwalk, CT, Maria O’Brien (Vincent) Mount Pleasant, NY, Serina Pecora (Joseph) Rye, NY, Patricia West (David) Wilton, NY; Cousins:  Emma (Zeb) and Nina Chiappetta, Courtney and Kayla O’Brien, Isabella and Sophia Chiappetta, Amanda Brown, Stephen O’Brien, Danny Chiappetta, Joseph, Robert, Christopher and Michael Pecora, and Tony Brown and Joseph West.

The family will receive friends at the Graham Funeral Home on Friday, July 29, 2022 from 5:00-8:00 PM.  A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Saturday July 30, 2022 at the Church of the Resurrection at 9:30 AM.   The Mass will be livestreamed for those who can not attend in person.  To view the livestream, please click here.   Mausoleum Entombment follow at St. Mary's Cemetery in Rye Brook, NY.
