Obituary of Linda Emanuella Anni

Please share a memory of Linda to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Linda Emanuella Anni, 76, of Port Chester, New York and York, Maine, passed away on Jan 25th 2022, surrounded by her family. Linda was born on Jan 16th, 1946 to Joanne (ne Colandro) and Dominick Anni of Port Chester, New York.

After attending Port Chester High School, Linda developed a passion for fashion trends, beauty and hair styling. In the spirit of being an independent woman, she fearlessly opened her own salon, Coiffures By Linda, on Westchester Avenue. Throughout the years Linda continued hair styling in various salons and continued to build a devoted clientele in the Port Chester area.  In her 30’s she made a career change to Derosa Insurance Agency, where she would stay for almost two decades. Linda lived a full and vibrant life with more friends than you could count.

Her parents, brother Anthony Anni, sister in-law Dorothy, nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles and long time companion Tony, meant more to her than words can describe. One of her greatest joys was doting on her two great-nieces, twins Anastasia, and Isabella, and her great-nephew Jackson. She was the go-to person and a confidante for each family member. Constantly letting each person know how proud she was of them and always ended the conversation with “I love you”.

When Linda retired and moved to Maine in 2001, she devoted most of her time to keeping in touch with her friends and family. She was an outstanding citizen and community member who at Christmas would bring trays of cookies and treats to her favorite businesses and friends. Linda’s faith in God was strong, often praying for others. She devoted time everyday to remembering those she loved in Heaven like her mother, Joanne, her father Dominick, her beloved brother Anthony, her sweet Aunt Marie and so many more. Linda was thrilled to be Godmother to her great nephews Anthony Malone and Mathew Caruso. To all that knew her, Linda was a fun-loving social butterfly. When she moved to Maine she called her aunts and cousins in New York and Connecticut on a daily basis to check in or just talk for hours.

In her younger years she loved dancing and traveling and would often reminisce about her travels to Lake George, Vermont, Paris and Italy. She connected with so many people, including her neighbors in Spring Pond Estates, who would watch out for one another. In Maine, she and Tony spent every summer evening at their favorite spot on Short Sands Beach in York, watching the sunset. As the heart and soul of her family, she will be forever missed.

She is survived by: Sister-In-Law Dorothy Anni Niece, Eileen Berezni & husband Mark Great Nieces, Anastasia & Isabella Berezni Nephew, Tony Anni, Jr. & wife Megan Niece, Amy Powell & husband David  Great Nephew, Jackson Powell.
