Obituary of John N. Malloy

John Neville Malloy, of Harrison, NY, passed away on October 21, 2021. 

He was born in New York City on November 10, 1933. He was the youngest son of Henry Thomas Malloy and Ellen Neville Malloy. He graduated from Mamaroneck High School and then Villanova University.

Upon graduation from Villanova’s School of Business in 1955 he also received a commission, in the United States Navy; retiring from active/reserve service as a Lieutenant Commander.

While a student at Villanova he attended a tea dance at neighboring Rosemont College. There he met the love of his life Catherine Moran. They married in 1953. He began his married life in Radnor, Pennsylvania then moved to Staten Island, NY, and finally settled in Rye, NY in 1972. Jack, as he was known to friends and family, enjoyed a long and successful career with Paper Sales Inc. Jack and Cathy enjoyed traveling and socializing with friends.

He was a former member of Richmond County Country Club and Westchester Country Club. There he enjoyed playing golf and paddle tennis.

He was predeceased by his wife Catherine, daughter, Justine, son ,Christopher and son-in-law, Peter Hanretty.

He is survived by 7 children : John (Patrice) of White Plains, NY , Catherine Hanretty of Port Chester, NY, Michael Malloy (Gail) of Armonk, NY, Peter Malloy of Port Chester, Stephen Malloy of Port Chester, NY, Robert Malloy of Harrison, NY, and Thomas Malloy of Harrison, NY.

He was the proud grandfather of Colleen Malloy Vollmayer, Tara Malloy Curley, Justine Hanretty, Christopher Hanretty and Jessica Malloy; great grandfather to Jackson and Charles Vollmayer, Cheyenne, Lilly and Jacob Malloy.

Funeral mass will be on Thursday, October 28, 10:00am, at the Church of the Resurrection, Rye NY. 

In lieu of flowers, kindly make a contribution in Jack’s name to St.Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital.
