Obituary of Dawn Brennan Maloney

Dawn Brennan Maloney, a lifelong resident of Rye, NY, passed away in the presence of loved ones on September 10, 2021. Born on May 27, 1938, to the late Donald T. and Dorothy Murden Brennan, Dawn was a proud Rye High School graduate, who continued to cheer on the Rye Garnets sports teams throughout her life. 

Dawn was a devoted mother to her daughters: Kim Perry of Providence, RI and Dawn Myers of Rye, NY and a loving and proud grandmother, to her grandchildren, who brought her such joy: Kelsey, Christopher, and Patrick Myers, of Rye, NY. Minkie, as they called her, loved to attend her grandchildren’s games, recitals, and performances. Dawn was predeceased by her brothers, who were her best friends: Lane P. Brennan of Sausalito, CA and Thomas H. Brennan of Mansfield, MO. Dawn will be missed greatly by her family, friends, and neighbors. 

Dawn was always active and continued to take dance classes and ride her bicycle into her 80’s. Although one of her greatest joys was spending time with Lacy, her “granddog,” Dawn loved all dogs. She once convinced a neighbor she barely knew to give her the house keys so that she could walk the neighbor’s dog during the long workday. 

The family will receive friends at the Graham Funeral Home in Rye, NY on Friday, September 17, 2021 from 3:00-7:00 PM. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, September 18, 2021 at 9:00 AM at the Church of the Resurrection in Rye, NY.
