Vincent C. Slater Sr. a resident of Rye, NY passed away on July 18, 2021. Vincent was born in Port Chester, NY on April 1, 1935. He was the son of George and Irene Slater (Nee Burns). Vincent was a graduate of Rye High School and served his country faithfully in the United States Marine Corp from 1952-1955. Vincent worked as a custodian for the Rye City School District and was a past Rye Fire Chief.

Vincent was married to Helen Ann Dempsey on November 29, 1962. Together they raised their three children in Rye. Helen Ann passed away on December 4, 2014. Vincent is survived by children: Vincent C. Slater (Marita Valenti), George Slater (Cathy Slater), Tricia Birdsall (Skip Birdsall); three grandchildren: Kailey Slater, Ryan Slater, and Noah Birdsall; three siblings: Mary, Harold, and Mickey. He is predeceased by siblings: Robert, James, Winifred, and George.

The family will receive friends at the Graham Funeral Home in Rye, NY on Wednesday July 21, 2021 from 4:00-7:00 PM. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at the Church of the Resurrection on Thursday July 22, 2021 at 10:00 AM. The Mass will be livestream for those who are unable to attend in person.
