Obituary of Michael Dee Strange

Michael Dee Strange, brother, son, uncle and loyal friend died peacefully in his sleep May 29, 2016 after a long illness. Michael was born August 11, 1950 in Yonkers, New York. He was the first of six children born to Jane Dee and Walter H. Strange Sr. He graduated from Pelham Memorial High School and then moved to New York City to pursue a career in music. Michael was a well-respected musician, arranger, composer, producer and engineer. He recorded and toured nationwide with artists such as Phoebe Snow and Phyllis Hyman and wrote and recorded commercial jingles in his home studio. He was also a sought after guitar teacher in Greenwich, CT for many years. He is survived by his brother Walter H. Strange, Jr. of West Chester, PA, sisters Louise Strange of Mamaroneck, NY, Mary Strange Taylor of Wylie, TX, Sarah Strange of Greenwich, CT, brother Charles E. Strange of Frisco, TX, along with many nieces, nephews and grand-nephews. We will forever miss his kind heart and laughter. A memorial service will be held on August 6, 2016 at 9:30 AM at the Church of the Resurrection in Rye, NY. If you would like to make a donation in Michael's name, please direct it to the ALS Society.
