Obituary of Maryann Tierney

Please share a memory of Maryann to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Maryann (Caggiano) Tierney died on October 26, 2020 with her daughters virtually by her side following a courageous battle with Covid-19. Maryann was born in New Rochelle, NY to the late Angelina (Zaccagnino) and John Caggiano. Maryann married the late James Tierney in 1969 and they were married for over 40 years. Theirs was a great love story and she missed him every day since his passing in 2015. When her children were young, Maryann returned to school to earn her LPN, determined to show her daughters the importance of being an independent and strong woman. She spent the latter part of her career at St. Cabrini Nursing Home where she enjoyed working with the geriatric population. Maryann relocated to Myrtle Beach, South Carolina in 2017. While living there, she made many wonderful friends and was able to do a bit of traveling. Although she loved Myrtle Beach, her heart remained in New York and she planned to return to be close to her family. Maryann is survived by her four children Amy Soviero (William), Stephanie Tierney, Jaimi Kennedy (Jack) and James Tierney (Gina). She is also survived by her five grandchildren JR, Will, Kaitlyn, James and Evelyn – whom she loved with every fiber of her being. Additionally, she is survived by her brother Anthony Caggiano (Patsy). Maryann will be greatly missed and always remembered. Visiting hours will be at Graham Funeral Home on Sunday, November 1 from 3-5pm. The Funeral mass will be at St. Gregory the Great Church in Harrison on Monday, November 2, 2020 at 10am. Private burial to follow.
