Obituary of Dorothy Briganti

Dorothy Loretta Briganti of Tamarac, FL passed away on October 9, 2020. Born on February 8, 1925 in Port Chester, NY, she was the daughter of Frank C. Wood and Nellie Iverson. Raised in Rye NY she graduated from Rye High School Class of 1943. Her working career included working in accounting for General Foods for 7 years and becoming a travel agent for Economy Travel for over 30 years. Dorothy loved to travel, having been to Ireland, Mexico, The Caribbean, Hong Kong, France, Alaska, and many other places. She was a devoted mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She loved her family. She loved gardening, crafts, and her pets. She stood strong, she endured through adversities. She had a strong constitution which kept her with us for so long. She will be sorely missed. Dorothy married her husband James on July 8, 1944. Together they raised their three children. James passed away on January 14, 1968. Dorothy is survived by her three children: daughters Sharon Mazzullo of Mamaroneck, NY, Dale Feisthammel of Ft. Lauderdale, FL, and son: James Briganti of Rhode Island and Florida. She is also survived by seven grandchildren: Lisa Drummond of Port Chester, NY, John Banahan of Rye Brook, NY, Kelly Doherty of Redding, CT, Tracy Merolle of Harrison, NY, James Briganti of Daytona Beach, FL, Shannon Feisthammel of Ft. Lauderdale, FL, Sean Feisthammel of Ft, Lauderdale, FL; her sister Audrey Crawford of Holly Hill, FL and brother Walter Wood of Dolgeville, NY; and 13 great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends at the Graham Funeral Home on Friday October 16, from 4 to 7 PM followed by a Memorial Service at 7 PM. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the charity of your choice in Dorothy’s memory.
