Obituary of Jessica Field Gay

Jessica Field Gay passed away peacefully in the company of her family at home on February 9, 2020 from complications of breast cancer. Born on May 15, 1949 in New York City, Jessica attended The Brearley and later The Masters School. She earned a BA in psychology from the University of Wisconsin at Madison where she met her future husband and earned an MSEd from Bank Street College of Education. After two years of teaching in New York City, Jessica and her husband Bob moved to Washington, DC, where she continued to teach. Moving to Rye, NY and raising her three children, Jessica took on many leadership roles with organizations including the Children's Aid Society, The Masters School, Rye Presbyterian Church, Rye City Schools, and the Lynde Point Land Trust. Jessica thoroughly loved her role as grandmother and her love of cooking brought family and friends together. Actively engaged in her community, Jessica was also an enthusiastic golfer and traveler. Jessica will be deeply missed by all who know her. She is survived by her devoted husband of 46 years, Robert S Gay, their three children, Stephanie (Albert) , Elizabeth (Ryan) and Jamie (Isabel), and four grandsons, Grayson, Wyatt, Theo and Elliott. Jessica also maintained a very close relationship with her two brothers, William and Kenneth Field. A Memorial Service is planned in her honor for February 29th at 2 pm at Rye Presbyterian Church in Rye, NY. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the Bennett Cancer Center at Stamford Hospital.
