Vita Petretti passed away June 20, 2016, at 95 years of age to the day. She was born on June 20, 1921 in Wakefield, MA to Giovianina and Paulo Monterosso. She moved to New York City where she met her husband Charles. They were married June 27, 1943. Vita and Charles purchased a single family home on 231st Street in the Bronx in 1949. There, they raised their two children Charles Jr. and Janet. In 1993, Charles and Vita moved to Palm Beach, FL. She is predeceased by Charles in 2011. He was 95.
She is survived by son Charles Petretti Jr of Chicago, daughter Janet Suarino of Larchmont, grandson Chris Suarino of New Rochelle, grandson Keith Suarino (Ellen) of Brookfield, CT, granddaughter Jennifer Peters (Robert) of Rye, grandson Richard Suarino (Laura) of Rye and great-grandchildren: Peter and Kyle Suarino, Lillian and Carolyn Peters, and Richard "RJ" Suarino, Jr. Family will receive friends at the Graham Funeral Home in Rye, NY on Friday June 24th from 9:00-10:30 AM. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at the Church of the Resurrection at 11:00 AM. Entombment at Ferncliff Mausoleum in Hartsdale, NY. In lieu of flowers, please donate to the American Heart Society.
