Obituary of Richard Kennedy

Richard “Ricky” Kennedy, 58, passed away at his home in Costa Mesa, CA.  Those who knew him affectionately called him “Cakes or Rock”.  Born in Lincolnton, Ga, the family moved to Rye, NY where he attended Rye Public School. He graduated Rye High School in 1979, where he excelled as an athlete and student.  He went on to attend and graduate from University of Las Vegas with a bachelor’s degree in Hotel Management

After spending many years in hotel management and pharmaceutical sales, he decided that life was best spent on the golf course at Big Canon where he so lovingly enjoyed working.

Ricky was a unique soul who will forever be remembered for his smile.  He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, just relaxing.  He was a person who exuded a love of life an had the ability to make friends wherever he went.  In other words, he would “win over the room”.

He is predeceased by his mother Lillian and father Marvin. “Ricky” is survived by his seven brothers and sisters, Georgia, Patricia, Mary, Marvin, George, Michael and Frances “Missy” brother in law Craig McLeod.  Also, lovingly survived by seventeen nieces and nephews, aunts and uncles, sister in law and many cousins and countless friends. He will be missed by his family and many friends.
