Elizabeth "Betsy" Hanson, 93, died peacefully Monday December 17, 2018 in Rye, NY surrounded by her loving family.

She leaves her daughter, Nell Lauber and husband Christopher; daughter Nora Hanson and husband Ralph Cosentino, son Stephen Hanson and wife Margaret, son Kevin Hanson and wife   Julie, son Thomas (T.J.) Hanson and wife Amy, granddaughters, Patricia, Maureen, Gracie, grandsons, Jim, John, Paul, Owen, Kevin, Justin, Sam, Keith and Russell.

She was preceded in death by her spouse, Paul V. Hanson Jr, in 1977 and daughter Elizabeth in 2002.  

Born July 17, 1925 in Manhattan, NY to father Thomas Quinn of Co. Longford, Ireland and mother Nellie O’Sullivan Quinn of Co. Cork, Ireland, Betsy was the second oldest of the Quinn children which included Patricia, Thomas and Helen. Betsy was a high school graduate of Ursuline Academy in Manhattan, earned her undergraduate degree at The College of Notre Dame in Baltimore, MD and graduate degree from Columbia University in NY.

Married December 27, 1952 to the love of her life, Paul V. Hanson Jr., they raised their family of six children in Larchmont, NY where they were active members of several community organizations most especially, St Augustine’s parish. With a strong love of theatre, Betsy was a semi-professional actress and long time drama and speech teacher at several local colleges and high schools.

A funeral mass will be held Saturday December 22, 2018 at St. Augustine’s Church in Larchmont, NY at 10:00am.
