Mary Elaine Suso, 88, of New Rochelle, NY and formerly of Fair Haven, NJ died Friday, November 30 after a brief illness. She was born October 22, 1930 in Elizabeth, NJ to Dennis and Mary Ellen (Quinn) Lynes. She was a graduate of Saint Mary of the Assumption High School in Elizabeth, NJ and a graduate of Mount Saint Scholastica, now Benedictine College, in Atchison, Kansas.

She is survived by her five children and their spouses: William Grimm and Deborah Shadd of Cohasset, MA, Stephen and Sebnem Suer Grimm of Istanbul, Turkey, Peter and Carol Grimm of Reading, MA, Michael and Cathy Grimm of Brooklyn, MI and Kristina and Robert McCooey of Rye, NY. She was a loving grandmother to eleven: Katharine Fulk and her husband Mackenzie, Jonathan and Michael Grimm, Julia and Madeline Grimm, Robert, Christopher, Elizabeth, Matthew, Thomas and Sean McCooey. She was a doting great-grandmother to Ellery and Beau Fulk and Eloise Collier and adored by many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husbands, Colonel Anthony Suso and Richard T. Grimm, her daughter, Mary Ellen Grimm, and her five brothers: John, Donald, Thomas, Jerome and Dennis Lynes.

Her family and her faith were central throughout her life and she touched many with her generosity, kindness and love. She was welcoming and gracious and had many talents, which she always shared. She was an avid bridge player and devoted countless hours volunteering. Her lovely manner, strong Irish spirit, beautiful smile and delicious cookies will be missed by many.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday, December 7th at 10:00am at the Church of the Resurrection in Rye, NY. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The ARC of Monmouth, 1158 Wayside Road, Tinton Falls, NJ 07712, arcofmonmouth.org
