I know that many, many people will be sad upon hearing this news. I am one of them. Don was such a character, larger than life in his presence and his talent. I always loved going to see him and will always remember him for some of the best haircuts I have ever had (including a hugely transformational one that I loved). He has touched countless lives and will live on in our hearts and memories. Courage and love to Jonna and Don’s family.

Jonna, Damien
Tommy and I are so sorry for your loss.
I met Don 35 yrs ago when I wanted to brush up on my hairdressing skills. After school he offered me a job and we became close friends. I remember Jonna when you came in to get a haircut and I said to Don “That is the girl for you”, and you were. We had so many laughs through the years, remembering when we went to Northport on the boat, coming home in the dark after some good wine, cooking a turkey on your boat, making Lasagne for his birthday, spending some holidays together. Oh, how he loved a good meal!!! and of course his demitasse after dinner. Damien, Dons pride and joy, loved you sooo much and was so proud of the wonderful man you became. What will I remember most about Don, his (a little devious) laugh, honesty, and his love for his career, career and passion came together for Don. Don I am going to miss you …till we meet again…
Love & Prayers

Dear Johanna.
I am very sad over the loss of Don.. I’m sorry I didn’t come to visit when you asked. I’ve known Don from hairdressing school which is a great number of years . We worked together and we partied all together. I have funny and fond memories of it all.. I have to say we learned a lot from each other about hair cutting. It was always sweet when I would visit and Don would say. Do you want to come back? That always made me smile. We were from old school. For me the the world lost a good man. I will always keep you in my heart and prayers
