Obituary of Cornelia Gaspari

Cornelia Gaspari, beloved daughter, sister and aunt, passed away peacefully in her room at Meadow Ridge Heath Center on June 23rd. She was 95 years old. Cornelia was born on July 5th 1922 in Bronx, New York to her father, Joseph Gaspari, and mother, Rose Tessitore. Joseph had immigrated to America in 1905 from his native country Italy. She was the fourth and youngest child with an elder sister, Nidia and two older brothers, Fulvio and Tiberio. The family moved from the Bronx, to Harrison, NY and eventually settled in Rye, NY. Cornelia was exceptionally intelligent and graduated from the College of New Rochelle. She later worked with her father and brothers in the family business, J Gaspari and Co. manufacturers of lorgnettes, oxfords and eyeglasses in New York City. She was an avid traveler and was fortunate to see many famous cities, countries and historical sites around the world. Cornelia never married and is survived by her nephew, Dennis and his two sons Grant and Guy. 

 The family will receive friends at the Graham Funeral Home on Monday, July 2, from 6 PM to 8 PM.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday July 3, at the Church  ofthe Resurrection at 10 AM.
