I'm so sorry for your loss. I've know Eric since my early teens when I lived across the street from Gail, my sister's best friend, and Gail's sister Lynn. In the intervening 50 years, whenever I returned to Rye for any reason, Eric and Gail's hospitality was always warm and welcoming. A few Rye/Harrison games through the decades were always a highlight. I was a little jealous of the ways in which Eric was a Rye person, through and through.
Eric always had time to really ask what was going on with me. We'd sit out on the porch, sipping coffee and I'd bum a cigarette--he was my only friend who still smoked. I can't get up there for the service, but I will be there in spirit. I have so many great memories.

Dear Gail:
I was very sorry to hear of Eric's passing. Please know that you, Russell, and Kate are in my thoughts and prayers. As you know, Eric and I were football and track teammates all through our years at Rye High School. I have many fond memories of our athletic adventures, of double dates with high school girlfriends, and of epic nights at Sprinkle's. Although I have not seen Eric in many years, I will always remember his athletic prowess, his vibrant sense of humor, and his friendship over many years. I hope that you, Russell, and Kate will remember the good times.
Your friend, David
