Obituary of Leah Linden

Leah Linden, 89 of Rye, died at Greenwich Hospital on Sept. 3, 2017. She was born in Brooklyn. An accomplished pianist, Leah attended Juilliard on a four-year scholarship and graduated with honors. Through their mutual love of music, Leah met her first husband, Paul Stein, a Cantor and operatic tenor. They had 3 children together. Leah played piano professionally as both a soloist and in ensembles. She worked as a proofreader at both RCA Records and the Kaye Scholer law firm. Several years after the deaths of their spouses, Leah and long-time Rye resident B.A. Linden, DVM, met and later married. After her retirement, she opened a piano studio in her home in Rye, teaching piano for many years. As a member of the Ethical Culture Society of Westchester, she occasionally played piano for services. She is pre-deceased by her husband Paul Stein and her husband B.A. Linden. She is survived by her 3 children, Bill Stein and his wife Daniella of Warwick, Fred Stein of NYC, and Roberta Stein-Ham and her husband Jack Ham of Rye, her step-children, Richard Linden and his wife Katie of Andover, CT, Dr. Robert Linden and his wife Caren of Niantic, CT. Also survived are her two grandchildren, James and Olivia Ham of Rye, five step grandchildren, Jeremy, Beth, Todd, Ellie and John, and three step great-grandchildren.
