Michael Miskulin, of Rye, NY, died on Wednesday (Feb. 15, 2017) at the home where he had lived the past 54 years. He was 85. Michael Miskulin was born in September, 1931 on Staten Island, NY. In 1951 he voluntarily joined the Air Force during the Korean War and was attached to one of the new intelligence agencies. Upon his return to the US, he received a BA from Wagner college in 1956 and later, while working for Sperry Rand's Univac division, an MBA from New York Univ. in 1959. From 1962-64 he served on the faculty of NYU. In 1961, after two years at Uni-Serve, Miskulin and two partners formed Computer Methods Corp. where he was president until 1968. After CMC, he was an independent systems consultant to the airline, banking and brokerage industries for clients including TWA, Chase Manhattan and American Express. He had a significant role in establishing systems and procedures for credit card processing and was well respected by his clients, many becoming lifelong friends. Miskulin also served as a director of Storm Drilling Co. and Lincoln American Corp. During 1966-67, he was the international president of the Assoc. of Systems Management. The Systems and Procedures Assoc. recognized his distinguished service in 1967. Miskulin was also a commissioned Honorable Kentucky Colonel. In 1959 he married Alyce Cazes and his son, Michael, was born in 1963 just prior to moving the family to Rye, NY. He was predeceased by his sisters, Anna and Marie, and his wife, Alyce. He is survived by his son Michael. A wake will be held on Tuesday, Feb. 21 from 4 to 8 PM at Graham Funeral Home in Rye, NY. In lieu of flowers, a memorial donation may be made in his name to Wagner College.
