Obituary of Patricia Ann Egan

Patricia A. “Pat” Egan of Rye, formerly of Crestwood, and recently residing at the Willow Towers in New Rochelle, passed away on Tuesday, February 14, 2017 at the age of 91. Hers was a life well lived and her legacy will be that of a devoted and loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Her family was her greatest joy and she was happiest when she was with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren at family events. Pat was a faithful parishioner of Resurrection Church in Rye and prior to that, Annunciation Church in Crestwood. She was a long time member of The Coveleigh Club where Pat and her husband, John, thoroughly enjoyed the time they spent with their many friends. Since 2011 she lived at Willow Towers where she embraced her new friends and caring staff. Pat was born July 23, 1925 to Daniel and Sally “Nannyo” (Regan) Cowan in New York City. She grew up in Bryn Mawr Park, Yonkers; graduated from Cathedral High School and The College of Mount Saint Vincent. Pat worked at Young & Rubicam and Sarah Lawrence College as assistant to the Director of the Early Childhood Center. An active volunteer, Pat served as a Board Member of the Westchester Catholic Education Council, the Annunciation Guild, the Ladies of Charity and the Alumni Board of the College of Mount Saint Vincent. In 1950 she married John Egan who remained the love of her life for 61 wonderful years. Pat is survived by her three children, Betty Ann (Lecky) and her husband Robert, Jack and his wife Lorrie, Jim and his wife Marianne and 11 grandchildren: Rob & Kim (Connors) Lecky; Dan & Lindsay (Lecky) McMenamin; &, Jake and Keillan Lecky; Shannon (Egan) & Jeff Vollmer; Emily (Egan) Allen; Chip & Kellianne (Egan) Haden; &, Abbe and Rebecca Egan; Jim, Jr. & Allie (Biggar) Egan; Dan & Michelle (Parilo) Egan. She is also survived by 10 great grandchildren! Visitation will be at Graham Funeral Home, 1036 Boston Post Rd., Rye New York on Sunday, February 19, 2017 from 2 to 5 p.m. A funeral Mass will be held at Church of the Resurrection at 910 Boston Post Rd, Rye, New York on Monday, February 20, 2017 at 10 a.m. with interment at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Cristo Rey New York High School – Corporate Work Study Program – a co-ed high school for underprivileged students. http://www.cristoreyny.org/
