Obituary of Catherine Marie Holden

Catherine Marie Holden (Glasheen) 61 of Norwich and Bozrah, CT passed away on January 26, 2017 at Hartford (CT) Hospital. She was the daughter of the late William and Mary Glasheen. She is survived by her loving husband Anthony D. Holden. Cathy grew up in Rye New York and attended Resurrection Grammar School, the Academy of the Resurrection and The College of New Rochelle. She leaves behind her brothers John (Liping) and Peter (Teresa), her sisters Joan (John) Wickham, Patricia (David) Lynch and Irene (Frank) Benedetto as well as 14 nieces and nephews and 17 grand nieces and nephews and her beloved dog Molly. She will also be remembered by her close friends Judy Borchert Makrakis, Peggy Hansen and Chris Capanegro. Cathy had been employed by The Bulletin (Norwich CT), WCMC in Groton, CT, Rye Ford Subaru, Westchester Community College, Ridge Door and Playland. She enjoyed gardening, spending time at Gardner Lake and taking care of her many animals. The family will receive friends at the Graham Funeral Home in Rye, NY on Sunday February 5, 2017 from 2:00-6:00 PM. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Monday February 6, 2017 at 10 AM at the Church of the Resurrection. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her name to a local SPCA/Humane Society or Kitty Harbor in Jewett City, CT.
