Obituary of Frank Charles Monfrini

Francis Charles Monfrini (Frank or Checkie) passed away at home on March 17, 2016. Frank was born Harrison, NY on January 4, 1917 to Gina and Frank Monfrini. Frank (Checkie) was raised by his mother along with four other brothers and sisters (Hector, Al, Anne and William). Frank went to Parson's school in Harrison. He served his country in the Army/Air force during WWII. Frank was employed as a bookkeeper at Winged Foot Golf Club in Mamaroneck where he worked until his retirement in1970. In 1958 Frank married the love of his life Vivian and the two moved to Rye, NY. Both lovers of nature, rather than put in a traditional lawn and backyard, Frank and Vivian planted a variety of trees and bushes and kept most of their property rather "woodsy". Frank loved classic/antique American cars. In addition to cars, Frank and Vivian loved Americana. They'd go to auctions every weekend. Vivian passed away in 2005. Frank is survived by his nephew, Robert Monfrini of Encino, California and by his sister-in-law, Anne Monfrini of Bronxville, New York. The family will receive friends on Tuesday at 1 PM at Graham Funeral Home Rye, NY. Interment to follow at Greenwood Union Cemetery.
