Margaret (Peggy Ann) Leahy of Stamford, CT, formerly of Rye and Yonkers, NY, passed peacefully from this life to her Eternal Rest on June 8, 2020. Peggy Ann was 88. Peggy Ann was born in New York City on April 14, 1932. She was the daughter of Michael and Margaret (née Callaghan) McKenna. In April 1955, she married David J. Leahy. For over three decades she served in the Financial Aid Office at Sarah Lawrence College, retiring at the age of 80. She loved her family, her colleagues, her friends and her neighbors and was in turn much loved. Peggy Ann lived a life of joy and cherished her 51 years of marriage with David J. Leahy until his death in 2005. She was also preceded in death by a son, Stephen G. Leahy and a grandson, Kieran Dunne. Peggy Ann is survived by three children: David M. Leahy (Mary) of Washington, DC, Peggy Leahy Dunne (David) of Stamford, CT and Gregory P. Leahy (Jennifer) of Rye, NY. She is also survived by nine grandchildren: Harper (Helena) and Lincoln Leahy, Mairéad, Ian and Aedan Dunne, and Jackson, Emma, Peyton and Quinlan Leahy, all of whom she adored. She is also survived by her sister, Sister Amadeus McKenna, O.P. of the Bronx, New York and her brother Gerard (Cathy) McKenna of Katonah, New York. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, June 17, 2020 at 11:00 a.m. at The Church of the Resurrection in Rye, New York. Masks are required in Church. A private interment at Gate of Heaven Cemetery in Valhalla, NY will follow immediately thereafter. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in the memory of Peggy Ann Leahy to St Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital.
